How to Wallpaper With Fabric

After THIS post, I went and did a bit of research and came up with some very cool information. You CAN wallpaper with fabric!! I have the perfect wall to try this one.

I found THIS post over at Little Green Notebook. I thought the cupboards were a great place to use this fabric! It's so beautiful!

So I kept hunting and found some good instructions right HERE at iloveindia.com. Here are the basics:

1. Wash the walls well to remove dirt.
2. Measure the walls and buy the fabric you want. Give yourself a little extra to line up patterns.
3. Measure your fabric and cut, making sure to match up patterns.
4. Tape off your ceilings and floors so you don't get starch on them too.
5. Spray starch stiffener on the top half of the wall.
6. Use a sponge or paint roller to smooth it into place.
7. You can use push pins to keep the fabric in place while the starch dries. Leave an extra inch or so of fabric to be trimmed off later.
8. Spray more starch and work your way down the wall, leaving a bit of extra on the bottom as well.
9. Spray starch on the top of the fabric as well and allow it to dry.
10. Trim off the extra after it's all dry.

See! We can do this! And best of all, it's easy to remove! I love this idea.

Of course, Amy Butler makes wallpapers as well! How about these? Here are a few I am loving!

What do you think? Stick with regular wallpaper or go out on a fabric-limb?

Up and Coming! Dena Designs presents...Kumari Garden

Check out this new line by Dena Designs for FreeSpirit. It's called Kumari Garden and it's due out any day if it hasn't already started hitting the shelves.

Wouldn't these be lovely in a Nursery? And no, I'm not expecting, but after 4 kids, I seem to see the world through Nursery-colored glasses! My baby is almost 2 so I guess I am in denial or something.

I must re-adjust my fabric expectations here. Let's think.... summer dresses!! Please oh please oh please!!! Let summer get here soon! These fabrics do make me feel warmer, so there must be something there.

Love this gray, large print! I have a thing for gray these days and I don't know if it's me talking or if I love it becasue all the ads and home designers out there say I should. In any case, I LOVE this print!!

This is my favorite of all. I want to wallpaper my entry with this blue trellis design. Is that do-able? I've seen it done. I'll have to look around.
Anyhow, to see the rest of this amazing line, go HERE. And thanks Dena Designs!! Loving Kumari Garden!

Sew Creative: Spotlight on Twin Fibers

Jennifer and Jessica of Twin Fibers are so amazingly creative! I love to pop into see what new treat they have cooked up and I am often super inspired. You know the saying, "Were you born in a barn?" Well, when I see these girls in action I want to ask, "Were you born in a quilt shop?" So much talent AND time.

In a day and age when it's all about NOW and CHEAP, it is so refreshing to find others who appreciate quality and craftsmanship. You CAN'T buy things likeJennifer and Jessica make (without destroying your retirement fund.) It's just good old creativity and work, work, work!

Out of all the Valentine's Day banners and garlands I have seen, this one takes the cake. It's felt!! There are bits of fabric and embroidery along the way and I think it's just charming!

And how about this fabric? Does it look familiar from HERE and HERE?

What an amazing quilt! Who wouldn't feel at home in that sweet bed. There is something about hamemade quilts that shouts out, "You are loved!"

And yes, this star is made from SELVAGE! How great is that? A few months ago I saw bags of this for sale at a local quilt store and I thought, "They want me to PAY for that?" Now I know why!
So, today's Sew Creative award goes out to Twin Fibers. Go check them out and enjoy!
Psssst.... all of the images are from HERE. (Thier blog in case you were wondering.)

Just Dreaming on Cloud 9

I'm pretty sure that I could take this gorgeous fabric from Cloud 9 and decorate an entire room around it. I love these colors and the natural, simple design.

My favorite home DIY'ers have a room mood board that would LOVE some throw pillows in this fabric. I get so many ideas from Young House Love. Check it out:

What is about orange that I love lately? Maybe it's the fact that everything around here this time of year is gray...
